Stabbing in Louisville retirement home: 73-year-old woman identified

The woman who was stabbed to death at an Old Louisville nursing home last month has been identified. The Louisville Metro Police Department was dispatched on a “troubleshooting” mission to the 900 block of South 4th Street around 5 a.m. on May 15. Watch our coverage of When LMPD Made an Arrest in the player above When police arrived, they found Brenda Kemp, 73, stabbed to death in a sixth-floor apartment at the Friendship House. Police arrested Kenneth Muse, 73, later that day. Court records indicate he resided with Kemp. LMPD was able to identify him through surveillance footage, saying he was seen leaving the house at the time of the 911 call. Muse is charged with murder.

When police arrived, they found Brenda Kemp, 73, stabbed to death in a sixth-floor apartment at the Friendship House.

Police arrested Kenneth Muse, 73, later that day. Court records indicate he resided with Kemp.

LMPD was able to identify him through surveillance footage, saying he was seen leaving the house at the time of the 911 call.

Muse is accused of murder.
