ST. PAUL, Minn. — A St. Paul man was sentenced to 60 months in prison in connection with a shooting in a grocery store parking lot that left a teenage girl injured in March.

Marquan Husten-Myles, of St. Paul, pleaded guilty in April to possessing a firearm as a felon. He was sentenced Friday and had his sentence reduced by 104 days.

A second person, a 17-year-old from St. Paul, was also charged in connection with the shooting. He faces three charges, including second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon. Isaiah Parkin20, also faces criminal charges of attempted second-degree murder and drive-by shooting for the incident.

According to the complaint, officers were dispatched to a Cub Foods store at 1177 Clarence Street following a report that several men were shooting at each other in the parking lot. The people involved in the shooting had left in two separate cars by the time police arrived.

Police found vehicles nearby that had been hit by gunfire and damaged a store window. A Girl Scout who was wrapping cookies inside the store was hit by gunfire and a 16-year-old boy injured by bullet.

According to the charges, surveillance video shows Husten-Myles and the 17-year-old suspect leaving the grocery store and walking toward a Kia Optima that they parked on the fire lane in front of the store. As they walked, a man – identified as Parkin – began shooting at the two. Both parties shot each other several times before fleeing the scene.
