St. Louis family searches for missing veteran in San Antonio

Jarvis McIntyre was last seen on June 8 near Holbrook Road, between Rittiman Road and Corrine Drive.

SAN ANTONIO — Jarvis McIntyre, 26, of St. Louis, traveled to San Antonio before his birthday weekend to visit his two sisters. He was supposed to return on Sunday June 9, but never returned home. He was last seen June 8 near Holbrook Road, between Rittiman Road and Corrine Drive.

His mother, stepfather, brother and aunt flew from St. Louis and since Wednesday, they have been posting missing fliers looking for any sign of him.

“I hope to bring him home and find him and bring him home with me,” said Monikki Williams Tippet, Jarvis' mother. “But to be completely honest with you, it's fading away, every day we're here with no leads as to where Jarvis is.”

McIntyre is a Navy veteran, who posts regularly on social media. When he didn't respond to birthday messages Monday and didn't post anything, his family knew something was wrong.

“I never thought I would be looking for a loved one,” said Wanetta Day, Jarvis’ aunt. “It's something you see regularly on TV. It's not something you think happens to your family.”

As of last Wednesday, the family now knows the last cell phone ping came from a neighborhood behind Rittiman Road and Old Seguin Road. His rental car and belongings were found just a block away in John James Park, near Holbrook Road.

On Friday, the San Antonio Police Department confirmed a body was found near Holbrook Road, but did not confirm the cases were related.

The family continues their search until they get answers.

“She’s such a vibrant person with a very infectious smile,” Tippett said. “He's got a beautiful heart. You know, and I just want to be reunited with him. He loved people. He loved being around people and entertaining people.”

Anyone with information about McIntyre is asked to contact the San Antonio Police Department's Missing Persons Unit at (210)-207-7660.
