St. James stabbing suspect faces additional charges | Local News

ST. JAMES — The St. James man accused of stabbing someone in April now faces additional charges related to the incident.

Antonio Trevino, 23, was charged with second-degree assault causing great bodily harm in Watonwan County District Court in April after a man was flown to a hospital for treatment of multiple stab wounds. The latest charges for felonious assault and threats of violence, filed May 28, involve a second alleged victim.

The second person told police he was helping Trevino and another man move a couch into a basement when Trevino became aggressive. Trevino allegedly brandished a knife at him and threatened him while holding him against his stomach, according to a criminal complaint.

The man left the residence and later discovered that Trevino had stabbed the other man in the basement, the complaint states.

Trevino's first court appearance on the most recent charges is scheduled for Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to the first charge in April and his sentencing is also scheduled for Tuesday.
