St. Charles Parish deputies shoot domestic violence suspect

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office says a deputy shot and killed a domestic violence suspect. Deputies say the shooting happened last night in Bayou Gauche. Investigators say a woman called to say her boyfriend was holding a gun to her head. Deputies say they arrived at a home on LA 306 and called Dalton Todd, 26, to come out. Despite being ordered to drop his weapon, Todd refused. Deputies then deployed beanbag rounds, but the sheriff's office says he advanced toward deputies with a gun. That's when the deputies fired their weapons and shot Todd in the legs. He was airlifted to the hospital and listed in stable condition.
