Spokane police arrest woman in deadly stabbing in West Spokane

The woman was charged with second-degree murder and first-degree assault.

SPOKANE, Wash. — A woman has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing someone to death Wednesday night in West Spokane.

According to the Spokane Police Department (SPD), police responded to a home on West Sunset Blvd near South Lewis St to assist the Spokane Fire Department. SPD said firefighters arrived at a home after receiving a medical alert.

Police said firefighters contacted a woman at the front door who was seriously injured, saying she had suffered multiple stab wounds. The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

A second person was found dead inside the home, according to SPD.

When officers arrived at the home, SPD said the suspect was not there.

Officers began searching the area and when they checked the house, they found a woman and arrested her.

Police eventually arrested Kelly M. Hyde, 34, and booked her into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree murder and first-degree assault.

SPD said both charges were related to domestic violence.
