Spokane Fire Update: Level 3 evacuation orders issued in 600 block of South Sargent Road, more than 85 acres affected

Spokane County Emergency Management announced that the Red Cross will establish a fire evacuation meeting point at Cheney High School, located at 460 North 6th Street, beginning at 5:30 p.m. local.

A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at the Dishman Hills Natural Resources Area in Spokane, Washington. According to the Spokane Valley Fire Department, the fire broke out in the 600 block of South Sargent Road in Dishman Hills, Spokane.

They said firefighters were responding to the fire, but it was still not under control. Level 3 evacuation orders were issued for residents in the area and people were asked to avoid the area.

Spokane County Emergency Management initially announced that the Red Cross would establish a fire evacuation meeting point at Cheney High School, located at 460 North 6th Street, beginning at 5:30 p.m. local hour. However, they have updated the meeting point to the Shriners Event Center at 7217 West Westbow Boulevard, 99224, and it will open at 6 p.m.
