Kayla McNeal was arrested in October 2022 after allegedly stabbing her neighbor, Vaneesa Wade, twice with a large kitchen knife.

According to the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office, McNeal's daughter and Wade's cousin were involved in an altercation before the stabbing. Wade's cousin told Oklahoma County deputies she was hit with a metal pipe before McNeal cut her arm with a knife.

Wade was reportedly on the phone with law enforcement when she began fighting with McNeal, who then pulled out a 12.5-inch kitchen knife and stabbed Wade twice. Wade was pronounced dead from her injuries after being taken to hospital.

McNeal was convicted of second-degree murder and given a recommended sentence of 35 years in prison. Formal sentencing will be set at a later date.
