Southern man convicted of trying to have sex with teen – Finger Lakes Daily News

A Broome County man will spend 20 years in prison after being convicted by a federal jury of enticement of a minor.

Assistant United States Attorneys Paul E. Bonanno and Maeve E. Huggins, who handled the prosecution in the case, said that in October 2020, David Lettieri, 36, of Harpursville, traveled from the county from Broome to meet a 13 year old. girl (victim) in a Wyoming County park with the intention of having sex, but no sexual contact occurred. Subsequent investigation found communications between Lettieri and the victim, including photos of the victim on Lettieri's phone. Investigators also searched Lettieri's Facebook account and recovered conversations between Lettieri, the victim and the victim's sister that were sexual in nature. The victim's age was also revealed during the conversations.

The conviction was the result of an investigation by the Wyoming County Sheriff's Office, under the direction of Sheriff Gregory J. Rudolph, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Matthew Miraglia .
