South Florida woman accused of sex trafficking multiple women

A South Florida woman has been charged with sex trafficking multiple women by Attorney General Ashley Moody's statewide prosecution office.

According to an investigation by the Pembroke Pines Police Department, Elise Mizrachi recruited several women addicted to heroin and fentanyl and forced the victims into prostitution, receiving most, if not all, of the profits.

Mizrachi controlled the victims by supplying drugs to the women, according to law enforcement. The Pembroke Pines woman is charged with two counts of human trafficking.

“This depraved human trafficker targeted women struggling with addiction, giving them heroin and fentanyl to coerce them into sex in exchange for money, most of which the defendant kept,” said Republican Florida Attorney General Ashley Moody. “I am grateful to those who have come forward to report these horrific crimes to the police. If anyone suspects human trafficking, please call our new statewide tip line: 855-FLA-SAFE.

The investigation revealed that while on probation for heroin trafficking, Mizrachi recruited several women addicted to fentanyl and heroin and coerced the victims into prostitution for Mizrachi's benefit. Mizrachi recruited women from Miami and one from Pennsylvania, promising victims a way to make money and access drugs.

Once the women joined Mizrachi in Pembroke Pines, Mizrachi photographed each victim and posted the women's photos on various commercial sex websites. Mizrachi would seek out buyers for the victims and direct the women to appointments, keeping most, if not all, of the profits. The investigation also revealed that Mizrachi distributed heroin or fentanyl to victims at certain times of the day to keep the women under control.

The case attracted the attention of law enforcement when a few victims escaped and filed complaints. Mizrachi is charged with two counts of human trafficking of an adult, as well as additional charges.

Attorney General Moody's OSP will prosecute the case.

Attorney General Moody and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announced the creation of a Florida statewide human trafficking reporting hotline. To report suspected trafficking, please call 855-FLA-SAFE and report to local law enforcement.
