Son of ex-Colt Daniel Muir found after 17 days

Bryson Muir, who is the son of a former Indianapolis Colts player, has been found, Indiana State Police said in a news release. He has been missing since June 16.

According to ISP, the teen's parents, Daniel and Kristin Muir, along with several other people, were detained in Cass County after a search of their home.

Bryson Muir safe, in custody of DCS

Indiana State Police said Friday that Bryson was found at his home in Logansport. A news release said he “appeared safe and well” and was released to Cass County DCS. Both are at the Cass County jail.

Daniel and Kristin Muir arrested

Daniel T. Muir has been charged with one count of obstruction of justice, a Level 6 felony; and one count of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor. Kristin Muir is charged with one count of obstruction of justice, a Level 6 felony, state police said.

Who is Daniel Muir?

Daniel Muir formerly played for the Indianapolis Colts NFL team.

According to an ESPN.com biography, Washington, D.C.-native Daniel Muir played defensive tackle for the Indianapolis Colts for four seasons, from 2008 to 2012. Before that, he's listed as having played for the Green Bay Packers for one season (2007- 2008). He played for the New York Jets for 2012-13; and the Oakland Raiders in the 2013-14 season, the profile says.

Where did Bryson Muir go missing?

Police previously reported that Bryson was last seen after visiting family in Ohio. Two days after Bryson went missing, Cass County DCS workers contacted Indiana State Police regarding allegations of abuse involving Bryson Muir. His grandmother, Cheryl Wright, later told Fox 59 she was the one who reported that he had a black eye.

Initially, police say the parents cooperated with their investigation, but then cancelled a meeting with ISP investigators on Friday, June 28.

Officials to search religious compound in Logansport, Indiana

Fox 59 reported early Wednesday that investigators had secured search warrants for a property owned by the Servant Leader's Foundation. Officials from the Logansport Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were preparing to go to the scene, the TV station reported, along with three SWAT teams, K9 units and a bomb squad.

Fox 59 reporter Angela Ganote also posted on Twitter/X Wednesday morning that state police were raiding the property.

Indiana State Police later issued a news release saying search and arrest warrants were executed at the Logansport property and found Daniel, Kristin and Bryson at the home.

What is the Servant Leader's Foundation? What is Straitway Truth?

A 5.63-acre parcel of land owned by the Servant Leader's Foundation is listed in Cass County property records. The organization itself has an address for a box at a UPS store listed.

Fox 59 previously reported that the property had a sign reading “Welcome to Straitway Indiana-Goshen.” The sign shows a logo of the Straitway Truth organization.
