Son Dinh, 50, identified as man who died after stabbing in Oak Park

Authorities on Thursday publicly named a man who died after being stabbed this week during an argument with a woman in Oak Park.

Officers responding to a report of a possible assault in the 2500 block of Euclid Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Monday found Son Dinh, 50, of San Diego lying on a sidewalk, bleeding from at least one gunshot wound. knife in the upper body, according to police.

Emergency services transported the victim to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead shortly after his arrival.

Although the exact circumstances of the victim's death are unclear, homicide detectives from the San Diego Police Department were called in to take over the case.

“The investigation is in its early stages and little is known about the circumstances that led to the stabbing,” Lt. Steve Shebloski said Thursday afternoon.

What the detective learned, he said, was that “there was some sort of argument between the (victim) and a (woman) that occurred in the vehicle they were in found. During this argument, a knife was present and (the man) suffered a fatal stab wound… Currently, (the woman's) role in this incident is still being evaluated.
