Something's missing from one of our favorite Disney World hotel perks

There's nothing better than returning to your Disney Resort hotel after a long day at the parks.

Imagine it. You've had a long day traveling to faraway countries and places, eating the most delicious snacks, and riding your favorite attractions. Now you can finally lie down, place your head on the softest pillow and watch some good old TV until you doze off. Except… something is missing.

Listen, there are many benefits to staying in a hotel at Disney World. You get free resort transportation (the Skyliner is my favorite), access to exclusive resort amenities, and you get to stay inside the Disney bubble! Everything is pretty much perfect. BUT, we discovered one thing that we realized we couldn't enjoy while staying at a Disney hotel.

All Disney World hotel TVs give you the ability to stream shows and movies from your smartphone. This is great and handy when you want to watch something specific. However, when we tried to stream YouTube, we encountered an error message:

You can imagine our disappointment when all we wanted to do was relax and watch our favorite YouTube videos after a long day. We're not sure why the app is disabled and can't be streamed to Disney hotel TVs, but given that the message says “YouTube is working on improvements to the service”, we can predict that it might be available in the future.

As a wise turtle might say, he's a total disappointment.

But it's definitely not something that would ruin our stay or prevent us from booking a Disney hotel again. It's a good thing to note though, and next time we might bring a laptop or tablet to watch YouTube on a bigger screen OR catch up on some Disney+ content (there's always something new added to the streaming service!)

Stay tuned as we bring you all the latest news and updates at Disney World!
