Somerville, New Jersey fire burns King Tut's restaurant on Main Street

SOMERVILLE – Kathy Andrews, who lives in an apartment above the King Tut restaurant on West Main Street that was badly damaged in a fire Tuesday afternoon, doesn't know if her cat is safe.

“Our power was out for about 5 to 10 minutes and then we heard the building alarm and decided to evacuate,” Andrews said. “We have a cat, but unfortunately I couldn't catch it, so I'm worried sick. I grabbed my phone, my shoes and ran out as fast as I could.”

A resident was forced to evacuate his apartment above the neighboring Mike's Courtside kitchen after a fire broke out in King Tut's basement shortly after 2 p.m.
