Soldiers kill three bandits and recover weapons in Kaduna forest

Troops of Operation Whirl Punch carrying out mine clearance patrols have killed three bandits along Gonna Rogo-Eka axis of Kajuru Local Government Area of ​​Kaduna State.

The State Commissioner in charge of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.

Aruwan said two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines and 81 rounds of 7.62mm were recovered after a fierce battle with the bandits.

He said: “Troops carrying out mine clearance patrols have neutralized three bandits along Gonna Rogo-Eka axis of Kajuru LGA.

“According to operational feedback transmitted to the Kaduna State Government, troops carried out special clearing patrols in the area and made contact with bandits. After an exchange of fire, three of the criminals were summarily neutralized.

“Troops searched the immediate area and recovered two AK-47 rifles, four AK-47 magazines and 81 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.”

He added that the State Governor, Uba Sani, thanked the security forces for their comments and commended the troops – under the command of the General Officer Commanding 1st Division of the Nigerian Army, General MLD Saraso division – for intensifying their efforts to ensure a peaceful celebration of Eid. for citizens.

“The troops will continue their special combat patrols in the general area and other places of interest,” he added.
