Smoke from prescribed burning can be detected in the High Desert

Smoke from the Tanbark Prescribed Fire in the Angeles National Forest can be detected in parts of Southern California, including the high desert of San Bernardino County.

Prescribed burns, lasting three days, are scheduled to begin Monday, June 10 over the foothill communities of Glendora, San Dimas and La Verne, according to the Forest Service.

Smoke could be visible and linger until June 16, as prescribed burning operations could last several days if conditions permit, firefighters said.

Smoke is also expected to be visible inside the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument section of the Angeles National Forest, particularly from Glendora Ridge Road to Big Dalton Canyon Road, and along part of Mt .Baldy Road.
