Six people arrested in deadly Escondido stabbing

(KGTV) — Six people have been arrested following a fatal stabbing in Escondido.

According to the Escondido Police Department, four juvenile suspects and two males were arrested. All six suspects were charged with murder, assault with a deadly weapon and participation in a criminal street gang.

“Among the juvenile suspects arrested are two 16-year-old men, a 15-year-old man and a 17-year-old man. All juvenile suspects were taken into custody at Juvenile Hall,” police said.

Richard, Fernandez, 19, and José Francisco Martinez, 22, were also arrested. All suspects are Escondido residents, police added.

The stabbing occurred shortly after 9 p.m. on April 27, when police were called to the 1000 block of North Ivy Street about a stabbing.

When police arrived, they found two men with stab wounds. One of the men, later identified as José Manuel Ramírez, 37, was taken to hospital where he later died. The second victim was also taken to hospital, treated and released.
