Hemphill says she went to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and the Lincoln Sheriff's Department about her brother's behavior more than a year ago. She said Callihan once admitted to her that he had molested a minor and also participated in the death of a missing person. man. She said they didn't take her seriously. “I just wanted someone to take us seriously because look what happened and the Lincoln County sheriff said there was no merit in him killing anyone, but then he diagnosed him with schizophrenia and let him out of those doors,” Hemphill said. She said Callihan aimed to live a life like her father. “He was classified as a serial killer and we even tried to tell MBI that he wanted to be a prodigy of his father and that he was writing his own book, except that he was going to succeed his father and he did,” Hemphill said. The Lincoln County sheriff said he did not ignore Hemphill's warnings. “An allegation was made against him in a sexual battery case. This case was investigated and presented to a grand jury…The grand jury did not indict him on any of these charges,” Sheriff Steve Rushing said. He said there simply wasn't enough evidence to charge Callihan on those allegations. We contacted the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and received no comment.
