Silver Alert Issued for Missing 35-Year-Old Centereach Man

Suffolk Police have issued a Silver Alert this evening for a missing Centereach man who suffers from psychiatric conditions.

James Shurman, 35, was last seen around 4 a.m. Friday, June 28, as he left his home at 54 Park St., police said. He was in a gray 2015 Chrysler 200 with a New York license plate, KRP 8819. His family members reported him missing to cops at 10:55 a.m. today.

Shurman is reportedly suicidal and is no longer taking his medication. According to police, he is white, 1.73 m tall and weighs approximately 102 kg. Additionally, he has red hair and hazel eyes.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on Shurman's location to call 911 or Squad 6 detectives at 631.854.8652.

Silver Alert is a program in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with the media about missing individuals with special needs.
