Sidharth Malhotra reacts to fan losing Rs 50 lakhs in alleged scam: 'Be careful'

New Delhi:

Sidharth Malhotra on Wednesday issued a statement regarding a fan's complaint that she was cheated of Rs 50 Lakh by the actor's fan page. Responding to the concern of a distraught fan, Sidharth wrote, “It has come to my notice that some fraudulent activities/scams have been doing the rounds on various social media platforms, claiming to be associated or related to me, my family and people pretending to be my fans and seeking money.”

The Shershaah actor added, “I want to assure everyone reading this that neither I, nor my family or team support any of this. I urge you all to exercise caution while dealing with such matters. If you receive any suspicious requests, report them to the relevant authorities and refrain from spreading false information. If you haven't been following the chain of events, here's the background for you. News agency IANS reported that a US-based Sidharth fan named Minoo Vasudevan claimed on social media that a fan page of the actor, run by Aliza and Husna Parveen, allegedly cheated her of Rs 50 lakh. Minoo accused the admins Aliza and Husna of creating fabricated stories about the actor and how his wife Kiara Advani poses a threat to Sidharth's life. The fan also narrated how she paid money to get inside information about the actor, claiming to have lost a total amount of Rs 50 lakh.
