Shreveport woman arrested in stabbing near Centenary Gold Dome

SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – According to Shreveport Police, shortly after midnight on June 17, officers responded to a call of an assault and battery in the 3100 block of Woodlawn Avenue. It's just off the E Kings Highway near the Centennial Gold Dome.

When police arrived, they arrested Michelle Mitchell, 48, who allegedly stabbed a family member.

Officers learned after the incident that Mitchell had outstanding warrants for entering and remaining after being barred and resisting arrest. Mitchell was taken into custody for the incident and outstanding arrest warrants.

She was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.

Authorities say the stabbing victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
