Shooting victim identified | Barbados Loop

The Barbados Police Service (TBPS) has identified the shooting victim, who died today, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, on the grounds of the Aberdeen Jones Center and Market, located on the corner of Crescent Road and Upper Gall Hill Road, in Christ Church. .

The young man, who was pronounced dead by a doctor, was later identified by a family member as Zakhair Avion Kimani Goodridge, 19, of Upper Crescent, Gall Hill, Christ Church.

Police say they responded to the shooting that was reported around 9:27 a.m. today at the Aberdeen Jones Center and Market.

The SPTB stated:

“A number of young men were in the area when a lone gunman entered the area and began shooting, then the attacker fled through a gap.”

“One man remained motionless on the ground while four others were injured. The injured were all taken to hospital with injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening,” police also said.

This brings the total number of homicides for 2024 to 16.
