Shooting leaves one dead, six injured, Lansing police say

According to police, the victims were between 15 and 20 years old.

LANSING, Mich. — Police are investigating a shooting in Lansing early Monday that killed one person and injured six.

According to a news release from the Lansing Police Department, police responded to the 300 block of River Front Drive regarding a shooting. Officers arrived and said they found a large crowd of people, as well as several gunshot victims.

In the release, police said Lansing firefighters responded to the scene to treat the victims and transport them to the hospital. Police said one of the seven people shot, a 17-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Of the six other shooting victims, one is listed in critical condition, police said. The victims are aged 15 to 20 years old.

Police described the shooting as an “isolated incident” and said no arrests had been made.
