Two people were taken to hospital by police, including a 14-year-old boy who may have been shot twice; his status is unknown. Three other people arrived at the hospital as walk-in patients, including the 17-year-old girl, who was shot in the chest and right shoulder. She was pronounced dead at Temple University Hospital shortly after 11 a.m.

Another 18-year-old girl was shot in the right leg. She is listed as stable at Temple University Hospital.

A 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the leg checked into Temple; police believe he was the victim of the park shooting. Another 15-year-old boy went to a gas station near the scene to seek help before being transferred to hospital.

“We don't know what started the shooting, what motivated it, if any of these victims were targeted,” Philly Police Detective DF Pace said. “It’s too early in the investigation.”

Authorities say they found 11 shell casings at the scene. No arrests have been made and the incident remains under investigation.
