Shooting at Screven County block party leaves 6 injured

SCREVEN COUNTY, GA (WJBF) – The Screven County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that left six people injured.

On the night of June 29 and the morning of June 30, the Screven County Sheriff's Office received calls about a shooting in the Lawton Place neighborhood. The calls indicated that a shooting had occurred at an unauthorized block party held in the neighborhood.

As a result of the shooting, six people were shot and injured and several cars were damaged after being hit by bullets.

Officers arrived on scene and additional law enforcement was provided by the Sylvania Police Department, Georgia State Patrol and Bulloch County Sheriff.

The investigation revealed that several people were shot during the incident.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is assisting in this investigation.
