Shooting at apartment complex leaves one dead

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in Anderson, South Carolina that left one person dead.

A man was airlifted to a Greenville hospital Saturday afternoon following a shooting at an apartment complex on Palmetto Lane in Anderson. The call was made around 4 p.m., according to deputies.

According to a Google search, the shooting took place at the Hampton Green and Hampton Crest apartments.

“They are gathering information and evidence and are in the process of tracking down a suspect. The investigation is in its early stages and we will pass on information as soon as it becomes available,” said Shale Remien, public information officer for the Anderson County.

Remien also says they are using the K-9 unit and drones to help search for the suspect.

The Anderson County Coroner's Office announced that the victim in that shooting died from his injuries.
