I am extremely disappointed that the Pride Board of Directors has denied the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office participation in the upcoming Pride event (Guest Comment, May 28). How better to overcome past issues between law enforcement and the LGTBQ community than to celebrate the inclusivity we enjoy today? Closing the door to the sheriff's office's proposed olive branch extension is not the solution.
