Sheriff's Office Youth Summer Camps Start Next Week

Some places still available in free program

– The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office is gearing up for its annual youth summer camps, set to begin next week, with a few spots still available for interested participants. The camps, designed for new students in grades 5-7, promise a blend of fun and education, all at no cost to participants.

Each day of camp features a unique theme, accompanied by corresponding activities and assemblies. These camps are supervised by school resource deputies, who are educators and staff members from local schools, working with crime prevention specialists.

The locations and dates of the camps are as follows:

  1. South Camp at Mesa Middle School: scheduled for June 10-14. Interested candidates can email their application to [email protected].
  2. Camp North at Lillian Larsen Elementary School: Scheduled to take place June 17-21. Applications should be sent by email to [email protected].
  3. Coastal Camp at Cayucos Elementary School: Scheduled for June 24-28. Applications can be submitted by email to [email protected].

Camps have limited availability, with the first 120 applications accepted. They are free to students residing in unincorporated areas of San Luis Obispo County. To secure a spot, applicants are encouraged to promptly submit their application to their designated School Resource Assistant.
