Sheriff's Office to Body Cams

West Olive, MI (WGHN) – The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office has selected Axon Inc. as the vendor for the body camera/dash cam project. The project was approved in the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget by the Ottawa County Board of Commissioners. After an extensive process and research within the County's bidding and purchasing guidelines, the award of this contract will provide the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office with state-of-the-art body camera and video capabilities of dash cams throughout the county. Sheriff Steve Kempker said work will begin in the coming weeks to begin construction of the countywide system for the sheriff's office. This project will include approximately 200 body cameras and 120 automotive cameras as well as system software and operating systems.
