Sheriff's Office: Teen arrested for premeditated murder after stabbing 14-year-old | Summer Sun Times

A 16-year-old boy was arrested Monday for first-degree premeditated murder, following the death of a 14-year-old boy by double stabbing. The second victim, an adult, was being treated at the hospital, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office (SCSO).

On Saturday morning, Alexander Warren Hernandez, who was known to the victim, allegedly arrived unexpectedly and “knocked” on the door; the juvenile victim, Connor Michael Gill, went to unlock the door when Hernandez entered the home and stabbed him, threatening a third victim, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the SCSO release, the adult victim came to inspect what was happening and was also stabbed by the suspect. Both victims were assisted by emergency medical services on scene and then airlifted to area hospitals, where the teenage victim died. Gill was 14 years old.

It was shortly after 10 a.m. when the sheriff went to the scene on CR 148 in reference to the stabbing. The incident allegedly occurred during a sleepover at the young victim's house.

During the investigation, Hernández, who had fled on foot, was identified as a suspect. He was arrested a short time later, with the help of the sheriff's office helicopter.
