Sheriff's Office Reports NBland Days Citations and Charges

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office released a report Monday on the results of special overtime enforcement efforts during the Nebraskaland Days celebration.

From June 11 to June 24, officers worked overtime to enforce speed and alcohol limits in Lincoln County. Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer said officers conducted 184 stops, resulting in 82 citations during that time.

Five drivers were charged with driving under the influence. One of those drivers was also charged with leaving the scene of an accident, furnishing alcohol to a minor, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and willful reckless driving, a Kramer said.

A second driver was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.

Four people were arrested for outstanding arrest warrants.

One person was charged with disturbing the peace.

Additionally, MPs issued these quotes:

• Speeding – 46

• No registration – 20

• No operator license – 10

• Minor in possession of alcohol – 6

• Reckless driving – 1

• Disobeying the brake light – 2

• No proof of ownership – 4

• Misuse of learner’s permit – 1

• Misuse of school permit – 1

• Driving under suspension – 1

• Possession of drug paraphernalia – 2

• Possession of marijuana – 3

• Open container – 2

• Fictitious boards – 4

• No insurance – 5

• Driving left of center – 3

• Signaling failure – 1

• No helmet – 1.

Additionally, deputies assisted seven motorists during the 13-day celebration, Kramer said.
