Sheriff's Office Dismantles Another Illegal Cannabis Store in Sheepshead Bay

The sheriff's office said it has busted another illegal marijuana store in Sheepshead Bay. The sheriff's office said it arrived at 2912 Avenue P Tuesday afternoon and found more than 50 pounds of illegal marijuana at what appears to be an undercover illegal manufacturer.

Among the discoveries was the first printing press ever recovered.

“This is a significant seizure because they are actually manufacturing illegal products and mislabeling them before selling them in the community,” New York City Sheriff Anthony Miranda said.

News 12 was present during the arrest of two men, but was asked not to release their identities pending charges and investigation.

Much of the packaging is colourful and features children's cartoons, which police say may have been intended to target minors.

“Children’s cartoons, that’s all we’re talking about,” Miranda added. “That’s the danger that’s out there in our communities and they’re not getting a license to manufacture, package and prepare their own labeling in that plant.”

It's not yet clear where all of the product came from, but the sheriff's office assured the community that it will continue to fight illegal cannabis and protect communities.
