FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A check for $10,000 will be presented Wednesday by the Fresno County Sheriff's Foundation to the Marjaree Mason Center to combat domestic violence.

According to sheriff's officials, the check will be presented by David Allumbaugh, president of the Sheriff's Foundation for Public Safety, at the new Marjaree Mason Center facility under construction at 255 W. Bullard Ave., in Fresno, at 10 a.m.

The funds will go toward the “Courage Takes Root” capital campaign, which officials say aims to maximize the center’s programs and services that work to end the cycle of domestic violence in Fresno County.

On February 28, the Marjaree Mason Center broke ground on its new campus which will be named the Isnardi Foundation Community Resource Center. The nearly 38,000-square-foot building will provide greater service capacity for all non-residential services for survivors of domestic violence in Fresno County, according to officials.

Some of these services include a 24/7 helpline and drop-in center, mental health services for adults and children, a dedicated children's enrichment center, an art room, therapy, a health clinic, group therapy spaces and a 100-seat room. training room. The new facility, officials say, is expected to open in December 2024.
