Sheriff heads for final upgrades to new LHC substation | Local News

Mohave County sheriff's deputies are set to move to a new $2.94 million substation in Lake Havasu City as local purchasing officials seek approval for a million additional dollars for improvements. The new facility, located at 6534 Showplace Drive, will provide 7,000 square feet of office space and an additional 5,000 square feet for storage, solving the space and infrastructure issues of the current substation. The Mohave County Board of Supervisors will decide on funding at its next meeting in Kingman, with Palmieri Construction selected for the improvements after a competitive bidding process.

The Mohave County Sheriff's Station could be one step closer to completing construction of its new facility in Havasu, after the county board last year approved construction of the 2 facility .94 million dollars. Today, Mohave County purchasing officials are seeking approval from the county board to award a $1 million contract to improve the new facility before it is put into service, to Palmieri Construction, based in Havasu.

Funding for this contract will come from a total of $9 million in state-designated funding awarded last year by the Arizona Legislature, according to county records.
