Sheriff DuMond Attends NYPD Graduation and Memorial Day Ceremonies

ALBANY – Sheriff Craig S. DuMond, as president of the New York State Sheriffs' Association, recently traveled to Albany to attend the final graduation of 228 state troopers. New York as well as at the annual Memorial Day celebration ceremony for fallen members of the State Police for 2023.

On Wednesday, May 15, 2024, Sheriff DuMond had the opportunity to witness and observe the 214th New York State Police Academy graduation session for 228 new state troopers. The new soldiers will report to their respective troops starting May 17 for 10 weeks of field training. During the graduation, Sheriff DuMond had the opportunity to speak with New York State Lieutenant Governor Antonio Delgado, praise the new Troopers and discuss current issues of law enforcement in New York State.

Thursday May 16thOn 2024, Sheriff DuMond attended the annual NYPD Memorial Day Service at the New York Police Academy, paying tribute and respect to fallen soldiers in 2023. During the ceremony, Sheriff DuMond met with new State Police Superintendent Steven James and pledged continued support, cooperation and partnership to keep New Yorkers safe in New York State.
