Several structures burn in fires east of San Jose, SJFD says

SAN JOSÉ, Calif. (KGO) — Several homes were burned Sunday in a residential area of ​​San Jose just off Quimby Road, authorities said.

People from three separate residences were displaced Sunday night in San Jose after fires ravaged their homes, San Jose Fire Capt. Thomas Lo said.

The San Jose Fire Department said a total of six structures were involved in two residential blocks and all homes were successfully evacuated with no injuries reported.

Very intense flames could be seen coming from these houses as firefighters blasted them with hoses.

It happened just off the East Capitol Expressway, not far from the Reid-Hillview County Airport.

According to Lo, at the same time, other residents began reporting more fires in the area.

“Embers had been cleared from some trees and the initial fire and carried across the street to two separate locations,” Lo said, adding that all three fires required a four-alarm response .

A total of three houses were affected and their residents displaced, Lo said.

No firefighters or residents were injured, Lo said, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
