Seven-story hotel proposed near Denver Health

A quiet site a block south of Denver Health in Baker could be home to a future hotel.

Venkata Guddanti, Sunitha Alli, Mallikarjuna Devireddy and Sujatha Nallapareddy purchased a 5,400-square-foot office building and 2,300-square-foot retail space at 520-536 N. Cherokee St. in 2022 for a combined $2.21 millions of dollars.

Last week, a proposal for a seven-story, 113-room hotel on the two parcels named Guddanti and Devireddy was sent to the city for review.

The site, approximately one-third of an acre, is zoned for mixed-use buildings up to eight stories. The proposed 59,000 square foot hotel would have 43 basement and ground floor parking spaces. Some retail would be present in the lobby near reception.

The plans were developed by Denver-based RealArchitecture Ltd. An architect noted to BusinessDen that plans are in their early stages and are subject to change.

Guddanti, Alli and Devireddy are also linked to another hotel project proposed nearby at 101 E. 4th Ave., on the northeast corner of Lincoln Street and 4th Avenue. Plans for this project were submitted a year and a half ago, but no work has yet started on the site.

Meanwhile, across the street from the proposed hotel site on Cherokee, developer Mill Creek has proposed an apartment complex. early 2022. But no construction took place.
