Seven people charged in alleged human trafficking ring in metro Detroit

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office has charged seven people who were allegedly part of a human trafficking ring in metro Detroit.

The Macomb County Sheriff's Department began an investigation into the human trafficking ring in February, which led to the execution of search warrants on Wednesday, May 29 by the Macomb County Sheriff's Department, the Shelby Township Police Department, the Sterling Heights Police Department, the U.S. Border Patrol, and the FBI at 25 Health Spa in Shelby Township, at the Healing Spa in Sterling Heights, at a residence in Macomb Township, and in a residence in Shelby Township.

The US Border Patrol has arrested six people for immigration violations. The Macomb County Sheriff's Department arrested seven people.

The Macomb County Prosecutor's Office charged:

Chun Jin, 48, of Macomb:

  • Prostitution/pimping, a 20-year offense

  • Prostitution/acceptance of winnings, a 20-year felony

  • Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year crime

  • Conspiracy to prostitute/keep a house of prostitution, a five-year felony

  • Aiding and abetting, a 93-day misdemeanor

  • Disorderly loitering at the House of Ill Fame, a 90-day misdemeanor

Chengai Jin, 54, of Macomb, and partner of Chun Jin, is charged with:

  • Prostitution/acceptance of income, a 20-year crime

  • Prostitution/pimping, a 20-year offense

  • Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year crime

  • Conspiracy to prostitute/keep a house of prostitution, a five-year felony

  • Disorderly loitering at the House of Ill Fame, a 90-day misdemeanor

Jorge Ruiz-Diaz, 22, of Utica, was charged with possession of a controlled substance less than 25 grams, a four-year misdemeanor.

Yeong Sil Kim, 63, of Utica, was charged with boarding and soliciting prostitution, a 93-day misdemeanor, and disorderly loitering at House of Ill Fame, a 90-day misdemeanor.

Zhanghuan Peng, 50, of Utica, was charged with:

  • Transporting a person for the purpose of prostitution, a 20-year offense

  • Prostitution/acceptance of income, a 20-year crime

  • Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year crime

  • Conspiracy to prostitute/keep a house of prostitution, a five-year felony

  • Aiding and abetting, a 93-day misdemeanor

Jie Liang, 61, of Eastpointe, was charged with keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony, and Lin Jun Zhou, 49, of Utica, was charged with accosting and soliciting prostitution, a 93-day misdemeanor.
