Serial shoplifter arrested after high-speed chase | WTAQ News Discussion | 97.5 FM · 1360 AM

FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A woman described as a “habitual shoplifter” was arrested Sunday after allegedly robbing a Walmart and then leading police on a high-speed vehicle chase.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., the City of Fond du Lac Police Department responded to the Walmart located on N. Rolling Meadows Drive after receiving a report of a woman who was “actively shoplifting” at the store.

Officials say the suspect was leaving the parking lot in her vehicle when an FDLPD officer arrived on scene. The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to stop, ran a red light at the intersection of N. Rolling Meadows Drive and W. Johnson Street and sped off. fled southbound on Highway 41.

Law enforcement pursued the vehicle, which reached speeds of approximately 88 miles per hour, before the driver stopped on S. Hickory Street and surrendered. The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 37-year-old Milwaukee woman, was taken into custody without further incident.

According to a press release, she was arrested for felony retail theft, fleeing a police officer, felony bail jumping, second offense possession of marijuana, probation/parole warrant and two arrest warrants. from Waukesha County for shoplifting and retail theft.
