Second teen arrested in attempted armed robbery on Pawleys Island, deputies say

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, SC (WBTW) — Georgetown County deputies have arrested another teen in connection with an attempted armed robbery that took place at a McDonald's in Pawley's. Island, authorities said.

The alleged attempted armed robbery took place on March 31 and at the time of the incident, the suspect was 15 years old and is now 16, Georgetown County deputies said.


The teen is charged with attempted robbery and second-degree assault. The suspect is currently being transported to the Columbia Department of Juvenile Justice, deputies said.

Another suspect, aged 12, was arrested on April 10.

The two men are accused of demanding money from a restaurant employee as she walked to her car after finishing her shift. The 17-year-old was then struck in the head with a rifle-style firearm after one of the suspects fired three shots at her. The suspects fled without stealing her purse, deputies said.
