Second juvenile arrested in Dartmouth for stabbing attack that may have been organized on social media

Dartmouth police now believe a stabbing incident outside the Dartmouth Mall this weekend was staged in advance on social media.

Officers responded to the scene in the parking lot outside Five Below at 200 N. Dartmouth Mall on Sunday around 2:50 p.m.

There, they located a 16-year-old New Bedford boy with stab wounds that did not appear to be life-threatening, police said.

They later found the other person involved, a 16-year-old boy from Fall River, at Lowe's at 5 Faunce Corner Mall Road after he left the scene on his bicycle, police said.

Authorities said the two juveniles were taken to a local hospital and have since been arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Additional charges may follow. The incident remains under investigation.
