Second arrest in connection with homicide in Stockton's Lakeview neighborhood

STOCKTON — A second person has been arrested in connection with a man who was found dead from a gunshot wound while inside a car in Stockton in April, authorities said Tuesday .

Rafael Galvan, 18, was arrested Friday, May 24, in Long Beach, Southern California, Stockton police said. Galvan has since been returned to Stockton and has been booked into the San Joaquin County Jail.

Galvan's arrest comes just three weeks after that of 18-year-old Jadari Benson. Benson was arrested on May 6 and taken into custody without incident.

Both men face charges in connection with the April 6 murder of Boivae Martinez, Jr., a 21-year-old Stockton resident.

Martinez was found early that morning in the driver's seat of a wrecked vehicle in the Lakeview neighborhood of Stockton. He was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

Video obtained by CBS13 shows that the accident occurred in front of a house and that a sign in the median was damaged.

Information regarding a motive for the shooting was not available. Stockton police said the investigation is still ongoing.
