Searching for man with knife after double stabbing on Bournemouth beach leaves woman, 34, dead and another, 38, in hospital with serious injuries



Police today launched a manhunt after a double stabbing on a Bournemouth beach left a woman dead.

Dorset Police said they were called to reports that two women, both from Poole, had been stabbed on Durley Chine beach at around 11.45pm last night.

A 34-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene while a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital with very serious injuries. Their next of kin have been informed and the coroner notified.

The beach, popular with tourists, was cordoned off while police searched the area for the knife.

Superintendent Gavin House said: “Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who lost her life very tragically.

“Officers are searching the area but no arrests have been made at this time. A full and detailed investigation is underway.

“I would ask anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the offender and has not yet spoken to officers to contact us urgently.”

He added that there would be an increased police presence in the area in the coming days.
