Search for missing Texas teen in Carolinas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A teenager missing in Texas since the beginning of the year may be in North Carolina or Virginia.

The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) shared information on Wednesday about the 17-year-old known as Sydney Seyffert, noting that the teen is also identified as Martin. Seyffert was last seen leaving his home in Duncanville, Texas on January 30. Seyffert is approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs approximately 115 pounds and has brown eyes and brown hair.

Two different photos showed Seyffert wearing ear piercings and glasses. It's unclear what Seyffert was wearing at the time, or how the teen left home and may have traveled so far from Texas. Seyffert's hair in both photos is cut short.

NCMEC also shared a photo of Seyffert's mother, Jennifer Polansky.

“We love you all and need to hear from you, no matter the circumstances,” the message read. “Please come home.”

Anyone who knows where Seyffert is should call local law enforcement. Tips can also be shared by calling NCMEC at 1 (800) 843-5678 or by calling the Duncanville Police Department at (972) 223-6111.

Duncanville, Texas is located approximately 12 miles southwest of Dallas and is part of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. It is approximately 1,032 miles from Charlotte, North Carolina.
