Search for missing Buckeye woman faces obstacles, son reveals shocking details

BUCKEYE, AZ (AZ Family) — Police search the West Valley for a missing Buckeye woman but face obstacles in the search.

Police released a timeline of events related to Hope Tucker's disappearance Tuesday, hoping it helps jog the memories of anyone who may have seen her or may have more information about that fateful day.

“Unfortunately, to this point we have not been able to locate Hope,” said Carissa Planalp of the Buckeye Police Department.

On May 22, police said Tucker was traveling on Interstate 10 with his autistic adult son when his purple Dodge Charger broke down between Verrado Way and Watson Road early in the morning.

His car was found abandoned hours later and police believe the two men left the car in search of shade.

Two days later, her son was found alone and in distress at a nearby QuikTrip on Watson Road.

Buckeye police say one of the big problems in this case is the communication barrier with his son.

At the time he was found, he didn't mention anything about his mother's disappearance.

“We understand that Hope's son was the last person to see her and unfortunately he is not able to release much information,” Planalp said.

He was taken from QT to hospital and, a month later, was released into the care of relatives.

Only then did Tucker's son tell his family members what happened when the car broke down.

“I had recently described the events of May 22 to this relative who immediately picked up a phone and made this report,” Planalp said.

Police said the son also just revealed a shocking detail.

“We don't know her status but we do know what Hope's son was able to convey to us and that is that he believes he saw her die after they left the vehicle in search of shade,” he said. declared Planalp.

Investigators can't confirm if what his son says is true, but they said it's possible Tucker suffered a medical emergency, but as their search began a month after his disappearance, they found no signs indicating direction or direction. The other.

“We take the information taken by Hope's son very seriously, but we are also expanding our research and investigative efforts,” Planalp said.
