Roger Shelton

WILLISTON – The Williams County Sheriff's Office has released new information in the investigation of a Williston man who has been missing since January.

Roger Shelton, 62, of Williston, was last seen in Williams County on Jan. 5, and investigators have spent the last few months following up on a number of leads and tips. A recent release provided information gleaned from camera footage obtained as part of the investigation, showing vehicle activity near Shelton’s residence between 6 and 7 a.m. on Jan. 6.

The footage in question shows two vehicles driving through the Freedom Meadows subdivision west of Williston and stopping briefly in front of Shelton's home. One or more people may have gotten out of a vehicle. Investigators were unable to identify any details about the vehicles or people from the footage.

Shelton's last known public location before his disappearance was the Black Gold Casino on the Montana-North Dakota border on the evening of January 5. Investigators believe Shelton returned home after leaving the casino.

Shelton is 5'5“with brown hair and brown eyes, and has a distinctive tattoo of the Pink Panther with the word ““cockroach” written below.

The public is urged to contact the Williams County Sheriff's Office with any information on Shelton's whereabouts. A private group is offering a $50,000 reward for credible information leading to Shelton's location and safe return.
