Lake Washington Park and boat ramps remain closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic as the search continues.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials said two people were on board when the boat operator reported the passenger missing in the Lake Washington and St. Johns River areas.

The search was massive with drone teams and boats from the FWC, as well as dive teams from the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, scouring the area where the man was last seen.

Jennifer Ghiz comes to this park every day. But on this day, it was filled with law enforcement.

“This morning I can't believe this happened. It's incredible. It’s devastating,” she said.

Authorities said family members are the only ones allowed into the park at this time.

Ghiz's daughter Ava is also shocked.

“Lake Washington is truly a place where I've made so many memories with my friends and family, it's just heartbreaking that such a tragedy would happen,” Ava said.

She and her mother hope for the best in this situation.

“I hope it comes to a happy conclusion, especially with July 4th coming up and everything,” Ava said.

“I pray that everything goes well for this family,” Jennifer said.

The man's name has not yet been released and it is unclear how long the search will last.
