Search continues for missing baby in Kentucky

Police continue to search for eight-month-old Miya Rudd, who went missing after her parents were arrested last week.

His mother, Tesla Tucker, 29, was arrested Thursday and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and abandonment of a minor. Cage C. Rudd, 30, Miya's father, was also arrested on the same charges.

Additional charges were quickly filed against both men, including child abuse, drug trafficking and participation in organized crime.

They were booked into the Daviess County Detention Center in Owensboro.

Miya's grandfather, Ricky J. Smith, 54, was also arrested on child abuse, abandonment of a minor, drug and gun charges.

Rudd, Tucker and Smith were scheduled to appear Monday in Ohio County District Court in Hartford.

Billie J. Smith, 49, was arrested Sunday on domestic violence charges stemming from an incident that occurred last year.

According to police, they discovered Smith had an outstanding arrest warrant while they were investigating Miya's whereabouts.

A fifth individual was also arrested, although his precise link to the investigation remains unclear.

Timothy L. Roach, 37, was arrested on drug charges, alongside Billie Smith, after police saw him throw non-prescription Suboxone under his vehicle.

WEHT, an ABC-affiliated television station located in Evansville, Indiana, reported Friday that residents in the town of Reynolds Station said they were joining the search for Miya Rudd.

Shane Heminway, a neighbor of the baby's family, told WEHT that residents had had problems with Rudd and Tesla Tucker, saying the pair were driving cars into the cemetery and driving dangerously.

Kentucky State Police said in a statement that they had received information regarding the case.
