Search continues for missing 19-year-old woman in Kimberling City

STONE COUNTY, Mo. — It's been weeks since Haven Shelton went missing.

She left her Kimberling City home in the middle of the night three weeks ago. Her parents, Bob and Jennifer, say their daughter has special needs that require her to take medication twice a day.

Haven's mother describes her daughter as a sweet young girl who loves to read and listen to music. She wants Haven to know that she is loved and that her family will stop at nothing until they know she is safe.

“It's the not knowing that's so hard,” Bob Shelton said.

Bob and Jennifer Shelton have spent the last three weeks searching high and low for their daughter, who left in the middle of the night on June 11.

“The Stone County Sheriff has been great. They’ve worked really hard,” Jennifer Shelton said. “They’ve done a lot of ground searching in very wooded, rugged areas. They’ve walked. They’ve walked acres and acres looking for her, and they haven’t found anything.”

The family says the sheriff interviewed friends and people she knew, including searching areas she knew well.

“They searched the homeless camps and we worked with all the local organizations that work with the homeless just to see if they had seen her or if, you know, they had left them posters so that if they saw her, they could maybe contact the Stone County Sheriff's Department,” Jennifer said.

But for now, time is running out.

“She is very vulnerable to anyone who might want to hurt her or take advantage of her,” Jennifer said. “Because of that, we are very concerned for her safety and we are concerned that she has latched onto someone who has offered to help her at this point, and that person may not have the best intentions.”

No matter what the situation, Haven's parents just want her to come home.

“We just want Haven to know that we love him very much,” Jennifer said. “We just want you to try to find a phone and call 911 or call us as soon as possible so we know you’re okay,” Shelton said.

Anyone with information regarding Haven is encouraged to call the Stone County Sheriff's Department.
