Sean Goe in custody and Stark County Jail in missing woman case

PLAIN TWP. ‒ The boyfriend of a missing woman was in custody this morning — ahead of a news conference scheduled by the Stark County Sheriff's Office at 11:30 a.m. to provide an update on the investigation.

Sean Goe, 26, of 4107 Orchard Dale Drive NW, is being held at the Stark County Jail. It's unclear when authorities apprehended him, but they were looking for him late Tuesday night.

Sheriff George Maier said investigators wanted to talk to him about missing 24-year-old Raychel Sheridan. They arrested him when he was spotted driving Sheridan's Jeep Liberty Tuesday night. However, he reportedly fled the scene.

A court entry shows he is being held on $500,000 bail, signed by Canton Municipal Judge Kristen Guardado.

According to a domestic violence criminal complaint filed in May, a Stark deputy alleged that “Sean Goe knowingly caused the mother of his unborn child, Raychel Sheridan, to believe that he was going to cause her serious physical harm by saying, 'I'm going to kill you!'”

The deputy also alleged that Goe put holes in the tires of Sheridan's vehicle so she could not drive it.

Sheriff's Public Information Officer Michaela Thomas said this morning that investigators remain on scene and are “actively investigating.”

Authorities said Goe was wanted on warrants charging him with misdemeanor domestic violence and criminal damage, as well as felony theft of a firearm and burglary.

Last month, North Canton police filed criminal complaints against Goe, accusing him of burglarizing a North Canton apartment on Rose Lane SW on April 2, stealing a 9-millimeter Glock pistol and damaging the front door, according to court records.

This breaking news will be updated.
